‘Step Into The Light’ is the title of a new song by The Cure which has only been released as a live version as track 15 on Curætion-25.
In my opinion it includes some of the most insightful words by Robert Smith.
Allow me to quote from the song:
“The only angels you should here are reason, honesty, equality and love. The only devils you should fear are hatred, ignorance, greed and a whole lot of people scared dumb”
The song is critical towards religious fundamentalism and aims very well at finding human values that we should all be capable to agree upon. Spiritual or not.
